Is Your
Extra Weight Killing You?

If you're more than 12-15 lbs
overweight the answer is Yes.
That may
sound a little dramatic and it may be a slow death but you've
definitely put yourself on schedule for a shorter life span.
For most people, that extra 15 lbs causes blood pressure and
cholesterol to rise, while HDL (Good Cholesterol) and blood
glucose goes down.
As body weight moves from 15 to 30 lbs
overweight most people will develop hypertension or type 2
diabetes - not to mention a score of other maladies that
always come along with those extra pounds.
On the
mental side, the effects of being overweight include stress,
low self esteem, depression, and anxiety. I'm sure
that if you're presently overweight and reading this that
you're not feeling very good about the situation.
I can only
hope that this brief article will serve as a trigger for you
to launch a weight loss program. You'll find plenty of
information on this site to help you do just that - starting
